Our Projects

We turn ideas into action. From training camps and education to cultural projects, our initiatives build the future of urban sports step by step.

BMX culture has gone through a radical transformation over the past 50 years — from its rebellious street image to becoming an official Olympic discipline in BMX Freestyle Park. Passing the Torch is a documentary project produced by the Urban Sports Foundation that tells this story through the journey of young rider Olek Jaworski and his coach Daniel Wedemeijer.

Filmed between March and November 2024, the project followed Olek’s training tour across Europe, with sessions at some of the most iconic places in BMX: Area 51 in Eindhoven, Mellowpark in Berlin, Adrenaline Alley in Corby, as well as Warsaw and AvePark in Poland.

The documentary highlights that BMX is not only about learning tricks — it is a culture built on values, passion, and dreams that are passed from one generation to the next.

Daniel Wedemeijer, a former Red Bull rider and now internationally recognized coach, brings unique expertise to the project. His track record includes coaching Swiss rider Nikita Ducarroz, who won the bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in BMX Freestyle Park. His mentorship in Passing the Torch demonstrates how world-class coaching shapes the future of young athletes like Olek.

The film premiered on February 8, 2025. Directed and written by Mateusz Szachowski, with cinematography and editing by Wiktor Tomczyk, Passing the Torch was produced by the Urban Sports Foundation.

The project was supported by strong commercial partners: Diverse Extreme Team, TSG, RideHub, and mPay — proving that our foundation already has experience in building professional collaborations with leading brands in the urban sports industry.

RideHub Team

The RideHub Team was created around the RideHub store and the growing community that surrounds it. What started as a local initiative quickly became a platform for some of Poland’s most promising young talents in both BMX Freestyle and MTB.

The team is not only about results on the podium. It’s about friendship, motivation, and the spirit of riding together. Riders support each other, push their limits, and represent a new generation of athletes shaping the future of urban sports in Poland.

Through training, events, and shared experiences, RideHub Team has become a symbol of how passion and community can come together to create something bigger than sport itself.

In June 2024, the Urban Sports Foundation, in partnership with the Polish Cycling Federation (PZKol), hosted Poland’s first practical BMX Freestyle judges’ training. The event took place on 29 June 2024 at the foundation’s headquarters.

Six participants joined the training, and four of them proceeded to the final written exam — all four passed successfully and are now eligible to become full-fledged BMX Freestyle judges.

The theoretical part was led by Jerzy Klinik, Chair of the BMX & Downhill Commission at PZKol, who introduced participants to official rules and regulations. The practical segment was guided by Hubert Cichecki, head BMX Freestyle judge at PZKol, who oversaw real-time judging of rider runs.

Almost all participants were former BMX riders — they bring their first-hand experience to their judging roles, bridging athlete insight with competition governance.

It was a crucial step towards making BMX Freestyle competitions in Poland more professional, fair, and aligned with international standards.

Ride & Progress

To grow as riders, young athletes need access to world-class facilities and the international scene. That’s why the Urban Sports Foundation continuously organizes international ride trips, giving our talents the chance to train, compete, and learn from the best.

Our journeys have already taken us to legendary spots such as Mellowpark in Berlin, Area 51 in Eindhoven, Adrenaline Alley in Corby, and Banga Park in Vilnius, alongside sessions at Polish parks including AvePark and Kazoora. Every season we expand our horizons, bringing more riders and exploring new destinations.

These trips are not only about pushing technical skills, but also about building friendships, experiencing new cultures, and connecting with the global BMX and MTB community.

For many young riders, it is their first opportunity to ride side by side with international athletes, to test themselves on world-class parks, and to bring that knowledge and inspiration back home to Poland.

This ongoing journey is shaping the next generation of Polish urban sports, preparing them for both national and international competition.
